History - the 1940s
Apparently the band did just about manage to survive and continue playing over the years of the Second World War.

First Female Member
It was the late 1940s before the band had its first female member, as pictured below.
Evening Classes
At about this time too, evening classes were held for young players, as reported in the following excerpt from a concert programme of that time.
Diamond Jubilee
1949 saw the Diamond Jubilee of the band which was celebrated with a concert at the Old Court House in Barnet.
