[ Regarding the Proms concert in September 2024 ]

Congratulations and thanks to Ian and to Barnet Band musicians for a such lovely concert on Saturday.

The rafters were ringing with joy at the energy of the band's performance from the first notes of 'African Symphony'. I've heard Barnet Band play South Pacific many times over the years, and I thought this was their best performance. It was a great programme with lots of variety of style, colour and mood. I hope you could all see, from the response of the audience - in their applause and vocal contributions (not forgetting the bell!), how much it was enjoyed.

An uplifting and thoroughly enjoyable evening.

    - Ros Asher

[ Regarding the band's performance at St Mark's church - 'The Prom in the Church'. ]

"I wanted to thank you formally for Saturday night's concert at St Mark's Church, and please pass our thanks to the members of the Barnet Band and Matt and the band committee.

We were still feeling on a high from the concert on Sunday morning and there was nothing but praise for the Barnet Band. People kept coming up to me to say how much they had enjoyed themselves, and what an excellent evening it was. People were saying how great it is to hear a live band when Saturday night TV has become so monotonous.

We had the church full to capacity, as you know, and it was quite hard to find places to seat the last few people where they were not going to be behind pillars. The amount raised was just a little short of £900.

Please say a big thank you to Matt, everyone in the Band and the Band Committee."
